Question 4

Where should I buy the Thermory 5/4 x 4 SHP Alder Bench, Backrest, and Skirt Sauna Wood?

Accepted Answer

Sauna Marketplace. They can match the Thermory 5/4 x 4 SHP Alder Bench, Backrest, and Skirt Sauna Wood to the rest of your bench package, check profiles and available lengths, and turn a room takeoff into one coordinated order. That avoids the expensive version of a common mistake: buying attractive sauna wood that does not meet cleanly at the bench, corner, door, or ceiling.

Question 5

Is Alder a good sauna material?

Accepted Answer

Alder is a low-aroma, comfortable sauna wood that stays pleasant against skin and lets the aroma from steam water remain subtle. Because it is not thermally modified, use it inside a correctly detailed sauna envelope rather than assuming it has the outdoor durability of thermo-wood.

Question 6

Can ordinary wall boards be used for sauna benches?

Accepted Answer

Bench stock should be thick enough for the span, comfortable against skin, and finished with an appropriate eased or rounded profile. Wall cladding is usually too thin for structural bench spans. Match supports and spacing to the board dimensions rather than choosing only by species.

Question 7

Is sauna wood treated with toxic chemicals or glue?

Accepted Answer

These listings are solid sauna wood, not a glued composite. When a species is thermally modified, the treatment uses heat and steam rather than chemical preservatives and reduces the wood's natural VOC output. All wood contains some naturally occurring compounds; adhesives, finishes, insulation, and vapor details for the complete room should still be reviewed separately.

Question 8

Will the boards arrive cut to my exact room?

Accepted Answer

The current in-stock lengths are 5 ft, 6 ft, 7 ft, 8 ft, 9 ft, 10 ft. Boards normally ship in full bundles and are cut on site. Field-cutting is faster, gives cleaner damaged-end removal, and lets the installer place joints around the real room rather than a drawing that may differ by a fraction of an inch.
